GC China Turbine Corp. is a manufacturer of 2-blade and 3-blade wind turbines located in Wuhan City of Hubei Province, China. The Company was founded in 2006 as an offshoot of Guoce New Technology Co. (“Guoce NewTech”), a leading technology provider to the Chinese Utility Industry.
Guoce NewTech has a long history as a preferred provider to the Utilities Industry in China. It is a producer of hydraulic systems and electronic control systems that enjoy dominant market share of approximately 40% in the hydro-electric generation industry.
A majority of Guoce NewTech’s shareholders founded GC China Turbine Corp. as part of a strategy of expanding their product offerings in an organization that closely parallels their current business. The Company sought to develop a groundbreaking technology in the wind power turbine manufacturing sector that would have a high likelihood of meeting rigorous requirements for low manufacturing cost and high operating reliability.
With the idea of “soft design,” we sought to develop a wind turbine technologies ranging from 2-blade to 3-blade in the wind energy space that would be reliable and cost-effective to manufacture. Although the 2-blade technology is less commonly used in the China wind farm market compared to 3-blade technology, the development project that created the 2-bladed wind turbine has been operating for 10 years with 97% availability (availability is calculated as follow: [annual total hours (24×365) - turbine downtime - maintenance time]/annual total hours). Our current product is a 2-blade 1.0 megawatt (“MW”) utility scale turbine with another 1.1 megawatt 2-blade utility scale wind turbine prototype under trial assembly, which is upgraded based on the 1.0 megawatt wind turbine. Designs for a 2.5 megawatt and larger offshore megawatt utility scale turbines are also in development.
GC China Turbine Corp. intends to achieve its mission by identifying promising technologies and then minimizing cost by sourcing the majority or all components from within China.
Guoce Science and Technology’s main businesses include the technical R&D, production, sales, and system engineering services of power testing instrument, computer-based monitoring system for hydropower station, hydropower governor, hydropower station excitation, DC system, substation automation, power dispatching automation, network monitoring, cluster server, and computer storage technology.
